Together with residents, community partners, and local leaders, we are realizing the full promise of the Eastside.

During 2024, Imagine Housing worked with city and county staff, elected officials, and multiple faith-based communities to lay the foundation for bringing more units to market—nearly doubling the number of units in the next 5 years to address the gap in affordable housing on the Eastside. We are building a pipeline for the future of affordable housing development while also delivering quality resident services for over 1,500 residents.

This phase of growth means that Imagine Housing is rising to match the pace of affordable housing development set by cities—ensuring that the communities where we live, work, and play are welcoming and vibrant for residents of all income levels. Support from cities, individuals, corporations, King County, faith communities, foundations, and special funding sources makes it possible to address the area’s need for more housing. Thanks to you, 639 households—that include families, seniors, veterans, and individuals—have a place to call home and the support they need to remain stably housed.

We know that the need has never been greater and with your commitment, more people will have the comfort of home. Imagine Housing’s foundation is strong and we are prepared to tackle uncertainties to help people find the affordable housing they seek in our high-opportunity Eastside cities.

In this report, you will see how your commitment is building community and changing lives through stable, affordable housing and resident services.

Imagine Housing Case Managers and resident programs are tailored for each community and resident, whether it’s helping with basic needs supplies, connections to community health and social services, or socially engaging events.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING + RESIDENT PROGRAMS = HOUSING STABILITY

More than 90% of resident households maintain housing with us for a year or more.

CARLA'S STORY

You support a vibrant community that brings together affordable housing and
resident services for approximately 1,500 people each year.

Meet Carla

"I had faith that this journey was meant for me."

For 35 years, Carla lived in a small house on a lake in Washington, a state she fell in love with after a childhood moving all over the country. She retired from a career as a fashion buyer, never thinking that she would ever experience homelessness.

When her landlord had to sell the property after the pandemic, Carla was understanding and got to work looking for a new place to live. But the housing landscape had changed significantly, and she couldn’t afford even a modest apartment in the area where she’d lived most of her life.

Carla’s world shrank to the size of her car, where she slept in the front seat parked under the lights in a Fred Meyer’s parking lot. Through it all, a fierce resilience, and deep faith, kept Carla from despair. After 18 months, she found an apartment at Imagine Housing. There, with the help of her Imagine Housing Case Manager, Carla began to rebuild her life.

The experience has left her with profound gratitude for the things most people take for granted. "I thought when I was scrubbing my floors this week, I thought, I'm so glad to have a floor to scrub, a floor to get dirty, you know, all those things you miss. It's like, it's a pleasure now."
