An Update on the Rental Assistance Fund
One of our greatest accomplishments in 2020 was opening our first ever Rental Assistance Fund to support Imagine Housing residents struggling to pay their rent because of COVID-19.
We raised over $250,000 in private support and $60,000 in public support. Partner agencies also provided rental assistance, including Indian Association of Western WA, Issaquah Community Services, Hopelink, Attain Housing, and African Community Housing and Development.
We are so grateful to our partner Eastside Legal Assistance Program in helping administer such critical assistance to our residents. With their guidance and expertise, we distributed over $300,000 in rental assistance so 120 households maintained stability.
The last week of 2020 brought more good news – we received notice that an additional $355,790 in rental assistance has been allocated to Imagine Housing through the King County Large Landlord program.
The hard work and continued efforts of our partner, Eastside Legal Assistance Program, community partners, Eastside cities, Allied Property Management team, Operations team, and case managers helped ensure the success of this program, ensuring a sustainable future for all who call an Imagine Housing community home. This program will continue into 2021 for as long as necessary during the COVID-19 crisis so we can help our residents meet their goals and maintain long-term housing stability.
