2019 Imagine Gala & Auction Volunteer Sign Up

Imagine Housing’s annual Gala & Auction raises over $500,000 to provide permanent, affordable housing and services to low-income and vulnerable people on the Eastside, and we rely on volunteers to make it a success! All volunteers receive dinner and breaks. Saturday, March 30 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.

Volunteer Roles

Registration & Cashiering
Volunteers needed: 10
These are the first and last faces our guests see. This team checks everyone in, enters sales data throughout the night, and checks people out at the end of the evening. This integral group ensures everyone feels welcome, pays, and goes home with their items.

Volunteers needed: 9
The most outgoing role at the Auction! Working in pairs, raffle volunteers will move throughout the Silent Auction selling raffle tickets to give guests a chance to win a trip or another great prize. Volunteers must be 18+.

Mission Experience
Volunteers needed: 2
Help guests understand what we do and our impact in the community. Volunteers welcome guests over to our “Imagine Experience,” make sure things are in order, and conduct an interactive activity at the end.

Dessert Frenzy
Volunteers needed: 3
These volunteers team up to show off each dessert on stage while the auctioneer sells them to the highest bidder, then tag the desserts with the winning table number and carefully turn them over to Meydenbauer staff.

Live Auction and Cashiering Runners
Volunteers needed: 8
During the Live Auction, runners will take the completed bid sheet to the winning bidder for a signature, before taking it back to the cashiering station. This role will have you up and moving for most of the night and is a great way to get your 10,000 steps in!

Grand Silent Auctioneers
Volunteers needed: 3
Try out your talents as an auctioneer in our Grand Silent—halfway between live and silent, conduct a mini-auction of some of our more exciting items that are just too good to be kept silent. Outgoing personalities required.

Volunteers needed: 3
Outgoing and energetic volunteers needed to support our auctioneer! Spot the bids and encourage guest participation. You’ll be on your feet throughout the Live Auction, helping the auctioneer to see all corners of the room.

Silent Auction Bidding Support
Volunteers needed: 10
This team will be stationed throughout the Silent Auction reception area with tablets to assist bidders who need help with mobile bidding. You will receive training on the mobile bidding website. This is a people-facing, high-energy and busy role! Customer service skills are a plus.

PowerPoint Director
Volunteers needed: 1
You will run the PowerPoint presentation throughout the Live Auction. Volunteer must have experience with PowerPoint and be able to closely follow written directions.

Item Collection
Volunteers needed: 8
After the Silent Auctions close, these volunteers and set up the Auction Item retrieval area and assist guests with collecting their items at checkout. These volunteers have a strong attention to detail and have excellent customer service skills.

Volunteers needed: 1-2
Volunteer your time and talents to help us capture photos of the event throughout the evening. Volunteers must be experienced photographers, be comfortable shooting indoors in low light, and bring their own camera and equipment.

We will try to match you with your preferred role, but we reserve the right to reassign volunteers based on need.

Please note: requested attire is all black dress clothes. Slacks preferred, no jeans please. T-shirts must be all black with no writing.
