(Snoqualmie Ridge)

Community Overview:

When the Master Planned community of Snoqualmie Ridge was developed, the city knew that a vital component to the community would be the inclusion of affordable housing.  Imagine Housing is thrilled to be developing workforce housing in this vibrant and growing neighborhood and is preparing to move forward with this project in 2013.

Once completed, Timber Falls will offer 160 apartment and town-home style homes for individuals and families earning 60% of the area’s median income.  A quick fact sheet is available here.

Engaging the Community:

In every community where Imagine Housing develops affordable  housing, we seek to engage the surrounding neighors, schools, local government and other service providers in conversations about how to best craft an affordable apartment community that meets the area’s needs.

In  2012, Imagine Housing began actively seeking input from the Snoqualmie Ridge community about Timber Falls, and is working to finalizing plans that will ensure the best resident experience for individuals and families living at Timber Falls while honoring the natural and design elements that make Snoqualmie Ridge such a wonderful place to live.

On January 23, 2013 and February 20, 2013, Imagine Housing held Community Outreach Meetings in Snoqulamie and shared a presentation outlining the genesis of this development and sharing the modifications we have made to the plans based on prior community feedback.  The PowerPoint from that presentation is available here.

Frequently Asked Questions and Resources:

A number of questions were posed at each of the Community Outreach Meetings and a listing of these questions with responses are now available here.

In addition, a Town Hall meeting to address community questions and concerns will be held on March 21, 2013 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Snoqualmie City Hall:  38624 SE River Street, Snoqualmie, WA 98065.

Detailed information about designation of Parcel 20 as affordable housing is available on the City of Snoqualmie’s website (click on the affordable housing link on the left hand sidebar).  Comments may be sent to info@ci.snoqualmie.wa.us.  Feedback regarding the proposed Imagine Housing project (separate from affordable housing in general) is welcome and can be made to Imagine Housing by leaving a reply below.

    • That’s a great question, Joseph. Our Housing Development department came back to me with the following response, “This project has not set aside any particular units to serve solely veterans and their
families. Veterans or veteran families with incomes that qualify them to live in housing
designated at the 60% Area Median Income (AMI) level will be welcome to live at the
project. They will need to earn 2.5 times the monthly rent, or have a sufficient rental subsidy,
in order to qualify to live at the property. Based on current allowable rents for one-, two- and
three-bedrooms, the minimum annual incomes would range from $28,020-$38,510.”

If you have more questions about Timber Falls, there are many resources on this page, as well as a PDF of FAQs which you can find here: http://imaginehousing.org/cms/wp-content/uploads/Imagine-S-20-Comments-Responses.pdf
